Name: Kwanodong Type: Miniature Porcelain Vases Year: Mid to Late 20th Century (c. 1970s–1990s) Set: No Mark: None - Fengdong, China History: This is a pair of small porcelain vases decorated in traditional underglaze cobalt blue, commonly referred to as "blue and white ware." These types of pieces were widely produced in Chinese export ceramics and are stylistically reminiscent of Qing dynasty designs but are clearly modern. The mark on the underside reads "Fengdong China" along with Chinese characters and simplified symbols, indicating mass production for export purposes in the latter half of the 20th century. The vases are both well-proportioned with smooth glaze finishes, though they differ slightly in form—one having a squat, bulbous body with a wide neck, and the other being more elongated and narrow. The floral motifs, while attractive, are transfer-printed rather than hand-painted, reinforcing their designation as decorative rather than fine collectible ware. The condition of both pieces is good with no apparent cracks or chips. These would have likely been part of a souvenir or gift set. Flaws: None
