History: A charming example of British mid-century travel memorabilia, this petite salt and pepper shaker set is crafted from EPNS (Electroplated Nickel Silver) and adorned with enamel badges featuring the coat of arms for John O’Groats, a famed Scottish village known as the north easternmost point of mainland Britain. The crests, brightly enamelled in red, blue, and black, are fixed to the bulbous silver-toned bodies, and the original box remnants suggest they were once sold as a tourist gift set.

Stamped “EPNS Made in England,” these shakers exemplify the affordable luxury and patriotic souvenirs popular with postwar tourists. Their small size and neat screw-tops make them functional as well as decorative.

Ideal for collectors of heraldic crested ware, British tourist souvenirs, or EPNS miniatures, this set is a nostalgic relic from the golden age of domestic tourism, capturing the essence of travel ephemera from the British Isles.
