History: While unmarked china can be tricky, this combination of Imari palette, scalloped rims, fluted molds, and a dense gilt floral decoration strongly suggests one of the following Staffordshire potteries:

Aynsley- Known for Imari-style patterns with heavy gilding and scalloped edges.

Coalport- Another contender with similar molded shapes and rich Imari designs.

Royal Crown Derby – Also famous for their Imari, though typically they marked all their wares.

Plant Tuscan China- Occasionally used very similar styles in the 1920’s-1940’s and not all were marked.

Cauldron or Foley- Some patterns in the 1900-1930 period resembled this in both colour and motif.

The period is estimated to likely be 1920-1940’s possibly even earlier, depending on the maker. The colour palette and form align with early 20th century English china trends, especially in export ware.

This is a striking and distinctive trio, and the pattern is a variation of an Imari-inspired design- characterized by its bold use of rusty orange, black and gold floral motifs, often in dense, intricate patterns. The scalloped edges and the cups footed base with the ornate handle suggest early to mid-20th century. The radial fluting on both the plate and the cups body is a common feature used by a few of the above-mentioned English bone china manufacturers. This exquisite piece would add to any Imari style tea ware.
